Ａ面はスウィンギーなジャズ・ヴォーカル、Ｂ面はロマンティックなラブ・バラードの魅力を十分に発揮した内容。

今まではキャピトル版（東芝EMI発売）だったが、初めて購入したリプリーズ版（ワーナー・パイオニア発売）のアルバムで、ラスヴェガスのホテル"ザ・サンズ"における実況録音盤。キャピトル時代の伴奏はネルソン・リドル楽団が殆どだったが、会社が変わってクィンシー・ジョーンズ編曲・指揮でカウント・ベイシー楽団が伴奏した。

シナトラは１９３９年２３歳の時ハリー・ジェームス・オーケストラの専属シンガーとして正式にプロ・デビューした。しかし当時、圧倒的な人気を得ていたのはトミー・ドーシー・オーケストラであったので、１９４０年こちらに移籍した。シナトラは、ドーシーの流れるようにスムースで甘い音のトロンボーン奏法を愛の唄の唱法を取り入れた。１９４２年には人気と実力を勝ち得た彼は独立を決意し、ドーシーと渡り合うことになった。

＝ ボサ・ノヴァに就いて ＝
１９５０年代中頃、ブラジルのアントニオ・カルロス・ジョビン、ジョアン・ジルベルト、ヴィニシウス・ジ・モライス、ジョニー・アルフ等の創始運動から生まれた音楽。ブラジル楽旅から帰ったチャーリー・バードがスタン・ゲッツにヴォサ・ノヴァを教え、一緒にレコーディングした「デザフィナード」が１９６２年初秋に大ヒットしたことで世界中でヴォサ・ノヴァ・ブームに火がついた。
１９６４年夏、スタン・ゲッツ、ジョアン及びアストラッド・ジルベルト、ジョビンが共演したレコード「イパネマの娘」が大ヒットし、その人気に拍車が掛かった。
